What is Prairie Hollow?

DSC_7015.jpg

Located on ten acres of tallgrass prairie and oak/osage woodland on the eastern edge of the Flint Hills, Prairie Hollow provides people with space for personal reflection in a quiet natural environment. Laura Mead offers individual and group instruction in meditation (both seated and walking) as well as art exploration related to the prairie. We have a series of nature paths here at our prairie home in addition to a walking labyrinth. There is also a small gift shop onsite offering Laura’s signature“Peace of the Prairie” art series, which includes botanical art, eco-dyed silk scarves, notecards and polymer clay jewelry.

In this video, Laura Mead describes the inspiration behind a series of art installations along a short walking trail located at Prairie Hollow, a private space located about fifteen miles southwest of Topeka, Kansas, on the edge of the Flint Hills.
